Patroller Equipment

Thanks for your Support

Hout Bay Neighbourhood Watch (HBNW) made a public appeal on 18th July 2019 to help raise funds for equipment for their dedicated IY and Hangberg Patrollers.

The community quickly came together to support them and more than R12,000 was raised. We are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed, by referencing their donations “Equipment”, and so enabling us to very easily allocate them directly to this campaign.

We have already purchased the wet weather gear which we handed over to representatives of IY and Hangberg at SAPS, Hout Bay on Friday, 16 August at 3pm. The rain jackets are heavy duty and will provide protection in both cold and rainy weather conditions. We have also purchased a number of torches that will be handed over to these patrollers. The torches are from a recognised Neighbourhood watch and police supplier, ensuring the patrollers will find them to be of good quality.

We are fortunate to have also received further generous donations from the Penzance CID (City Improvement District) and the Hout Bay CPF (Community Policing Forum) which will allow us to purchase additional equipment such as more torches, tactical lights and headgear, based on the additional requirements of these patrollers.

A big thank-you to all who supported this project.
